3 WAHS Students Receive IT Industry Certifications

certified WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (MARCH 31, 2017) — Williamsport Area High School Computer Information Technology students Victor Marino, Brett Segraves and Chase Weber have earned CompTIA industry certifications.
Marino earned a CompTIA A+ certification; Segraves earned both CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications; and Weber a ComTIA A+ certification.
CompTIA A+ industry certification is a worldwide certification that validates the competency of computer service professionals in installing, maintaining, customizing and operating personal computers (PCs). The CompTIA Network+ industry certification validates the essential knowledge and skills needed to confidently design, configure, manage and troubleshoot any wired and wireless network. 
Segraves plans to pursue an information technology (IT) degree from Rochester Institute of Technology. Marino and Weber plan to attend Pennsylvania College of Technology to also pursue IT degrees.
The high school's Computer Information Technology course is one of 14 workforce development programs made available to WAHS students through its Career and Technical Education program.
