IUP Faculty Conduct Master Class for WAHS Wind Ensemble Students

 Master Class
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (MARCH 28, 2017) — Faculty members from Indiana University of Pennsylvania's Woodwind Quintet held a master class for members of the Williamsport Area High School Wind Ensemble today. Students were exposed to the magic of chamber music — collaboration without a conductor at the highest level.
Members of the quintet include:
  • Dr. Theresa Wacker, DMA in Flute Performance from Ohio State University;
  • Dr. Stephanie Calder, DM in Oboe Performance from Florida State University;
  • Dr. Rosemary Engelstad, DM in Clarinet Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison;
  • Dr. Heidi Lucas, DMA in French Horn Performance from the University of Georgia; and
  • Dr. Jason Worzbyt, DMA in Bassoon Performance from the University of Texas.
Both Mr. Don Fisher and Mr. Todd Kendall, band teachers at Lycoming Valley Intermediate School and WAHS, respectively, earned their undergraduate degrees in music education from IUP.
