James V. Brown Library Summer Reading Program |  June 5-August 4, 2017
 
reading1 "Build a Better World." School-aged children in kindergarten through 12th grade will find hundreds of exciting books to choose from at the James v. Brown Library.  Set a goal, complete a reading log and turn in your log for summer reading prizes August 1-25 at the public library.  Readers must be registered to be eligible for prizes.  In addition, kindergarten- through sixth-grade students who successfully complete the summer reading program will receive a brand-new book in their honor (complete with a nameplate) to read and donate to their respective school libraries, courtesy of the WASD Education Foundation.

Lady Billie Basketball Camp |  CANCELLED

Williamsport Area High School Head Girls Basketball Coach Demarr Wright will host Lady Billie Basketball Camp from June 12-16 at WAHS. The camp, led by instructional coaches from the middle school to collegiate level, will focus on station drills, league games and tournaments.  The camp will consist of three divisions: grades 3-5, 6-8 and 9-10.

Summer String Camp | July 31-August 3, 2017

The Williamsport Area School District will offer a four-day Summer String Camp to district students. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. beginning July 31 to Aug. 3 at Williamsport Area High School. In the morning, students will play in a level-appropriate orchestra; experience classroom music geared toward team-building and musicianship; small group, during which students play with like-instruments; and a large activity for the entire camp at the end of each day. After four days together, students will perform a concert showcasing what has been accomplished during the week.
