Welcome to a new school & a new school year!
 

The PTO would like to welcome you to Hepburn-Lycoming for the 2009-2010 school year. We hope you enjoyed your summer and the students are ready for a rewarding and challenging academic year. Our Goal as a PTO is to reach out and provide a link between the parents and the school, keep parents informed, and increase parent involvement.

 

We are planning activities such as:

  • Fall Festival in October
  • Holiday Treats
  • Book Bingo Family Night
  • Book Fairs in the Fall and Spring
  • Holiday Shop in December
 
Providing many volunteer opportunities:
 
To keep parents informed and connected we provide:
  • Open meetings held in our cafeteria at 7:00 p.m. (September 10, November 5, February 4, and May 6)
  • A “PTO News” section in the school newsletter, The Falcon
  • A web page on the school web site
  • A Student Directory

 

We also have planned fundraising activities to help defray the cost of class field trips including transportation, special programs and assemblies, purchasing treats and paper goods for holiday parties, providing student awards, developing student yearbooks and directories, purchasing books and magazines for the school library and class rooms, providing accelerated reader incentives and materials and budgeted funds for the Principal and teachers. 

 

To fund our programs we hold:
  • Fall Fundrasier - Great American, Sept 8 - Sept 22
  • Hoss's Night - December 11
  • Bonanza Night - Date: TBA
  • Spring Fundraiser - Gertrude Hawk Chocolate, Date: TBA
  • PTO Membership - year long, $5 membership fee
  • Hepburn Lycoming T-shirt/sweatshirt, magnet sales, etc.

Please attend meetings, volunteer, and return any forms requesting action. Volunteers are needed at every level of participation to help the programs run smoothly. Your comments and suggestions are welcome.
